The group I was with were all naturalists but I did notice that their enthusiasm was not all inclusive and some seemed to ridicule all info about creatures without spines. First time I encountered that in a nature hike group. I really appreciate how broad your interests are--not everyone interested in lizards or plants knows or cares about slime molds. And bugs, of course.<br /><br />Once, hiking w/husband's family (in laws, etc.), I was ahead & exclaimed to husband, "Oh, WOW. I think thats slime mold!" Then 2 minutes later 1 of my nieces arrived and said "Oh, wow, I think that's slime mold!" (in so many words). I almost swooned. I literally have NEVER hiked w/anyone who knew or noticed or was excited about slime mold. THAT was a great day.
